EN: After a couple of years of absence, I decided to come back to the WordPress universe.
Honestly, I kind of missed blogging. I feel it became a huge part of my life when I was doing my 365 project. When I finished it, I didn’t want to blog for a while, doing a 365 is quite exhausting, and I don’t know why I finished it and I just stopped blogging. but as I said, I’m back!
I wont be here daily, maybe not even weekly, but I’ll show up once in a while.
During the last 3 years many things have happened and changed. I graduated from university in 2014, I moved to another city, Medellin, and I live and work here, but I still go often to my hometown, Pereira.
Due to my job, I stopped taking photos for a while. I was getting home too tired because this is my first job and the only thing I wanted to do was to rest, but the feeling of not taking photos was killing me and I decided to come back to it. I started studying photography in a pretty nice school here in Medellin.
The school I’m attending is a fashion and product photography school. Fashion? Yes, I never ever expected to go to a fashion photography school, my thought used to be “Fashion is superficial”, but by attending there I’ve realized that it’s not, but well, I’m not gonna go deeper into it here.
I wanted to share with you all the result of our final work for this semester. I didn’t do it alone. What you are about to see is the result of a great team work. 4 photographers, 1 model, 2 assistants and 2 make-up artists.
For this work, we didn’t want to hire a model whose hair was long and perfect, we wanted to break the mold and show something completely different, and we found inspiration on a Netflix serie named “Stranger things”, where one of the main characters is a little girl named “Eleven”, and she is bald!
That was a way to go, we finally had a starting point, but still, we had to work a lot to polish the idea into what we wanted to achieve, and we did. It was a big production, that took us almost 10 hours but it was worth it. These are the results.

ES: Después de unos años de ausencia -¿años?, si, para mi es increíble- decidí volver al mundo de los blogs.
La verdad extrañé un poco bloggear, durante mi proyecto 365 se volvió una parte super importante de mi día a día, y cuando terminé solo quise tomar un descanso, aunque nunca me imagine que iba a ser tan largo, pero como ya lo dije, ¡volví!
No va a ser un blog de post diarios, posiblemente ni siquiera semanales, pero voy a tratar de ser constante y aparecer cada vez que pueda.
En los últimos 3 años en los que estuve ausente, muchas cosas han pasado y cambiado; me gradué de la universidad, me fui a vivir a otra ciudad, empecé a trabajar, etc.
El haber empezado a trabajar hizo que en un inicio me alejara un poco de la fotografía, pues cuando llegaba a la casa no quería hacer algo diferente a descansar, no estaba acostumbrado a trabajar y terminaba el día muy cansado; pero la sensación de alejarme de la cámara me enfermaba y decidí cambiar esto. Empecé a estudiar fotografía en una academia que se enfoca en fotografía de moda y publicitaria, dos terrenos que nunca había explorado.
¿Moda?, nunca imaginé que iba a estudiar fotografía de moda, pues siempre pensaba que la moda era superficial y banal; y la academia me ha enseñado que estaba completamente equivocado, aunque no voy a ahondar en ese tema ahora.
Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes el resultado de nuestro trabajo de final de semestre, una editorial que llamamos “Back to strange”, y que es el fruto de un equipo de trabajo conformado por 4 fotógrafos, una modelo, dos asistentes y dos maquilladoras.
Para este trabajo no quisimos contratar una modelo convencional, con el pelo largo y perfecto, queríamos hacer y mostrar algo completamente diferente, y encontramos inspiración en una serie de Netflix llamada “Stranger things” (Cosas extrañas), en la que uno de los personajes principales es una niña llamada Eleven que no tiene pelo. Ese fue nuestro punto de partida, pero tuvimos que trabajar bastante para pulir la idea y transformarla en lo que queríamos lograr, y después de mucho esfuerzo, y de una producción de casi 10 horas llegamos a este resultado.
