Yesterday evening I noticed that something changed at home when I came back from my uncle’s house, but I was too tired to realize what it was.

Later on, I noticed that my mom painted one of the walls; she had already told me that she wanted to do some changes and she bought a paint a couple of weeks ago, I disliked a lot the one she bought, it looked too pale and that’s not her style, I was expecting something more alive, fortunately, she didn’t use that one.

When I realized that she had painted the dinner room wall, I turned the lights on to see how it looked like and I liked it, but I had to wait until today to see how it was gonna be like with the day light.

I actually liked it, it’s such a big change for us since the only non-white walls of this apartment were in my room, and now, home looks more alive!

Ayer en la noche noté que había algo diferente cuando volví de la casa de mi tio, pero estaba muy cansado y no le presté la suficiente atención.

Después de un rato de descanso vi que mi mamá había pintado la pared del comedor; ya me había dicho que quería hacer unos cambios y hace unas semanas había comprado una pintura que no me gustó, me parecía muy pálida y sabía que ese no era el estilo ni de ella ni de nadie en esta casa, por fortuna no fue esa la que utilizó.

Cuando me di cuenta que lo que había cambiado había sido el color de la pared, prendí la luz para ver qué tal había quedado, estaba un poco ansioso porque sin verla con luz no sabía cual era el tono.

Me gustó en ese momento, pero tenía que esperar hasta hoy para estar seguro viéndola a la luz del día; mi opinión no cambió, el apartamento se ve diferente, pues desde que vivimos aca la única pared de la casa que ha tenido color ha sido la de mi cuarto, y ahora esta. Es un gran cambio y la casa se ve mucho más viva.

Day 308

“Home is the place where it feels right to walk around without shoes.”

First day of holidays! I slept long, not as long as I wanted but I rested and didn’t wake up thinking about either exams or assignments; I went for a work out, I ran some errands and took some pictures.

In the afternoon, when I was leaving for the shopping mall to buy some stuffs, my dad was arriving and he joined me, I spent part of my day with him and when we came back, he opened the door and the light shining on our home was kind of blinding, I was surprised with that amount of light because I had never seen something like this here; a couple of minutes later the light dwindled and I shot a panorama from the main door.

I think spaces are really hard to photograph, and I’d tried it just a few times, but I liked the result today.

Primer día de vacaciones, dormí mucho, no tanto como quería pero al menos descansé y me levanté sin pensar en examenes ni trabajos; fui a hacer ejercicio, hice unas vueltas y tomé fotos.

En la tarde, cuando estaba a punto de irme al centro comercial a comprar algo, me crucé con mi papá y el me acopañó; pasamos parte de la tarde juntos; cuando volvimos a la casa, el abrió la puerta y la luz que había era impresionante, nunca había visto el apartamento tan iluminado como hoy, la luz era casi cegadora, pero todo se veía más bonito. Después de un tiempo, la luz bajó un poco, y decidí hacer una panorámica de la casa desde la puerta.

Creo que las fotos de lugares o espacios cerrados son muy complicadas, sólo las he hecho muy pocas veces, pero el resultado de hoy, me gustó mucho.
